Financing

We will discuss all fees and provide a written estimate of the charges for the proposed procedures during your first consultation visit. We have developed a package price for our patients that includes the surgeon’s fee, the charges for the outpatient suite, and anesthesia coverage. This package price makes it much more economical for patients to undergo surgery, particularly when more than one procedure is being considered. It is our office policy that 25% of all surgical fees must be paid at the time a surgery date is reserved. The balance is due in full two weeks in advance of the surgery date. Since these procedures are not done on an emergency basis, the patient has time to arrange his or her finances.

As a general rule, insurance companies will not pay claims for surgical procedures performed solely for cosmetic purposes. Sometimes they will pay for plastic surgery when cosmetic improvement is the by-product of a procedure performed to improve function, relieve symptoms, correct a congenital deformity or repair the effects of injury or disease.

Since each insurance company’s policy is different, our office staff is in not able to predict how your company will handle your individual case. It is very important for you to find out if your policy requires a second opinion or pre-certification for the procedure. If there is a portion of the procedure that is cosmetic, it will be quoted separately. If your specific procedure is covered, in whole or in part, by your particular insurance policy, our staff will provide you with assistance in seeking those funds. However, the patient must pay the entire fee in advance of surgery, and any portion covered by insurance will be reimbursed to the patient once the claim has been paid.

Please be reminded that our office cannot ethically or legally fill out forms in such a way as to make a procedure appear to be done for functional reasons when in fact, it is cosmetic. Health insurance policies are contracts between the insurance company and the patient. The patient, not the insurance company, is ultimately responsible for all charges incurred.

CareCredit Financing

CareCredit is a personal line of credit for healthcare treatments and procedures including cosmetic surgery. CareCredit is not a health insurance policy, but more like a credit card. You qualify on the strength of your credit history and CareCredit can help you pay out-of-pocket healthcare costs that are not covered by your insurance policy. Approval is based on information from your credit application and past credit history. This includes information from the primary applicant as well as any co-applicant.
